620 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne. Construction commencing early 2026. A luxury 25-level hotel comprising 207 keys, 620 Little Bourke Street reimagines a 1925 SEC Substation site as a landmark destination that fuses heritage character with contemporary urban elegance.

The design honours the building’s historic fabric through the careful retention and adaptation of the original brick warehouse, while introducing a slender glass tower that rises above it in a composition of refined proportions and material craftsmanship. At street level, the project prioritises pedestrian engagement and activation through a transparent and welcoming ground plane, integrating hotel lobby and retail amenity within a publicly accessible interface.

The architectural language balances history and modernity: a palette of metallic detailing and warm toned finishes wraps the curved glazed façade, creating a distinct yet subtle presence within Melbourne’s densely layered city context. Inside, a fully automated car-parking system enhances operational efficiency and guest convenience within a compact CBD footprint.

More than a hotel, 620 Little Bourke Street represents a carefully composed dialogue between past and present – where industrial heritage meets contemporary craft to deliver a boutique hospitality experience rooted in Melbourne’s architectural story.
