LiFE Architecture and Urban Design is proud to have delivered the three-stage redevelopment of the AdventCare Whitehorse site. From masterplanning and design through to documentation and construction, this project marks a significant step forward in creating respectful, purpose-designed environments that support ageing in place.

The redevelopment included a 90-bed extension to the existing aged care facility and the transformation of outdated buildings into a new front-of-house. This welcoming entry now features reception and administration areas, a café, dining spaces, and memory support accommodation. The design places strong emphasis on connection to outdoor spaces, promoting wellbeing for residents, staff, and visitors alike.

A key component of the project was the replacement of ageing independent living units with a new, affordable model designed to the Livable Housing Australia Silver Standard. These one- and two-bedroom units (ranging from 50–70 m²) offer an ageing-in-place solution within a co-located care model, enabling residents to remain in their community as their needs evolve.
